Murphy Hits For 27 As MCC Rolls By Bunker Hill

MANCHESTER – The Manchester Community College Women’s basketball ran its winning streak to five games with an 81-46 win Sunday afternoon against Bunker Hill CC at East Catholic.

MCC’s Erika Murphy (Torrington) led all scorers with 27 points followed by Katurah Andrews (East Hartford) with 20 and Shanika Hines (Manchester) 17. Jenny Alviarez had 16 for BHCC. Murphy has scored at least 24 points in each of her last three games and is now averaging 18.1 per game.

The Cougars (13-2) went on a 23-0 run to open the second half after holding a 48-27 lead over the first 20 minutes.

MCC, who is undefeated at home, travels to Springfield Tech Thursday afternoon for a 5pm game before hosting Roxbury CC (17-3) at East Catholic on Saturday, January 31st at 1pm.
