MCC Improves To 9-0 With 76-45 Victory Over UConn-Avery Point

MANCHESTER – Manchester Community College (9-0) received 16 points from Ericka Sagay (Bloomfield) and cruised to a 76-47 over UConn-Avery Point (5-5) Monday night at the Great Path Academy gym.

Shenielle Duncan-Clarke (Bloomfield) had 11 points and 11 assists while Rebeca VanGuilder (Hartford) had 12 points on four three-point baskets. The Cougars converted nine of 20 shots from three-point range. Callie Tambling (Manchester) had 11 points, including had three, three-pointers.

“They are pretty consistent on what they give us from night to night,” MCC head coach Robert Turner Jr. said of Sagay and Duncan-Clarke. “But I will have to say a lot of other people contributed. It’s always a team effort.”

Becca Pope led the Lady Pointers with 12 points.

MCC jumped out to an 8-0 lead and led by a 41-17 count at halftime.
