Franklin sets MCC mark with 20 assists; Andrews scores 26 in 106-36 win
MANCHESTER, CT -Jhenel Franklin (Windsor) set a school record with 20 assists as Manchester Community College beat Bristol Community College 106-36 at East Catholic Tuesday night.
Franklin completed the triple-double with 12 rebounds and 11 points as the Cougars won its third straight.
Katurah Andrews (East Hartford) led all scorers with 26 points with Erika Murphy (Torrington) right behind at 24. Amanda Colon (New Britain) chipped in with 21 for MCC (11-2). BCC (Fall River, MA) falls to 3-11.
MCC scored the first ten points of the game and took a 54-15 lead into the half.
“Katurah played a great game, probably her best in two years at MCC,” Assistant Coach Peter Harris said. “And Jhenel sees the court before anybody else.”
Andrews shot 12 for the 13 from the floor, had 10 rebounds, eight steals and four blocks. The triple-double was Franklin’s sixth in 13 games.
Amy Griswold (Ellington) pulled down 10 rebounds while Shanika Hines (Manchester) had 10 first half points, eight rebounds, seven assists and five steals
