MCC Announces New, Convenient Way to Register for Spring Classes
MANCHESTER, Conn. (October 27, 2020) – Students who wish for an easier way to create a schedule for Spring 2021 classes at MCC can now “opt-in” to having an advisor create a schedule for them based on major, availability and preferred learning mode.
“Creating a schedule can be challenging for students for a variety of reasons, from personal obligations that make connecting with an advisor difficult to being unfamiliar with college processes as in the case of new students,” said Angelo Simoni, MCC’s interim dean of student affairs. “Our new opt-in registration makes it simpler for students to achieve a full-time schedule that fits their unique needs and maximizes their opportunities to finish their degree on-time and at optimal cost.”
Opt-in scheduling is available to new and continuing students. When students opt-in, an MCC advisor uses data provided by the student to create a schedule that addresses current academic goals and needs while accommodating personal obligations and availability. The advisor registers the student and emails the schedule to the student. Those needing to make changes to their schedule can easily do so any time through the end of the semester’s add/drop period.
Spring classes begin on January 22. Students new to MCC can find more information and the online application at www.manchestercc.edu/enroll. Continuing and transfer students can still meet with an advisor to discuss their major and academic plan; limited on-campus appointments are available, as are virtual appointments. Both can be scheduled at www.manchestercc.edu/academic-advising.
