Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Game Design and/or applicable field with a focus on using digital tools and an emphasis on game design and development. Professional experience in game design and development preferred. Teaching experience at the college level is recommended. Game development documentation and prototyping experience required. Core skills required include excellent oral and written communication skills, demonstrated dedication to diversity and accessibility, demonstrated experience with technology as a teaching tool or a related technical or creative discipline. Experience with graphics and 2D/3D animation software, including game engines; Unity/UnReal preferred. An understanding of the mission of the community college and a demonstrated ability to respond to and work with multiple constituencies and involvement in support of a culturally and ethnically diverse population are required. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications as stated must put in writing precisely how their experience has prepared them for the responsibilities of this position.

Responsibilities

Teaching courses related to game design (including computer graphics, animation and introductory game development); recruiting and advising students; working with other faculty and staff on curriculum development, revision and evaluation; maintaining classroom materials and equipment; serving on departmental, division and college-wide committees; and other responsibilities related to a full-time tenure-track faculty position. Workload for teaching faculty is subject to collective bargaining.  Teaching schedule may include evenings and/or weekends. This position requires the faculty member to participate in commencement ceremonies, convocation activities and special college meetings.

Minimum Salary/Compensation

$55,571 approximate annual, plus excellent state-supported fringe benefits.
