Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree in Biology or related biological science field required. In addition, the following core skills are required: demonstrated involvement in support of diversity, demonstrated ability to respond to and work with multiple constituencies, and demonstrated computer literacy, including instructional applications. Experience using Blackboard Learn as part of the teaching experience is preferred.
Two years' college level teaching experience in the relevant subject matter; demonstrated experience with technology as a teaching tool (for example Vernier or Biopac system); knowledge of the National Science Education Standards, the AAC&U Project Kaleidoscope or a similar STEM initiative; and ability to teach courses in anatomy and physiology-related biological sciences (human biology, pharmacology or pathology) is preferred.
An understanding of the mission of the community college is essential.

ResponsibilitiesTeach lecture and laboratories for Human Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Pathology as needed. Coordinate with Biology Laboratory Manager for preparation, set up and sequence of lab activities based on department needs; develop, implement, revise and evaluate curricula in light of the National Science Education Standards and with a goal of implementing technology into the teaching and learning of the course material; assessment of student performance, as well as assessment of the biology curriculum; advise students; serve on college-wide committees; perform other duties as related to a full-time, tenure-track faculty position.
Workload for teaching faculty is subject to collective bargaining. Teaching schedule may include evenings and/or weekends. This position requires the faculty member to participate in commencement ceremonies, convocation activities and special college meetings.
Minimum Salary/Compensation$55,571 approximate annual, plus excellent state-supported fringe benefits.
