Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree in computer science required. Four years' college-level teaching experience in the relevant subject matter. The candidate must possess a demonstrated ability to teach introductory and advanced computer science courses in the following areas: Java and/or other high level languages such as C++/C#/Python, Database Theory, Data Structures & Algorithms, Organization and Architecture, Assembly Language and Discrete Math. Additional experience in internet technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, MySQL, and web frameworks is a plus.
Applicant should have a demonstrated ability to design, create and deliver custom teaching materials. Applicant should be able to work with IT tech support in the design of computer-based teaching environments.
Candidate must be able to provide guidance to students who are either planning to transfer to a four-year college or are planning to enter the workforce upon graduating with an associate degree.
Core skills required include: excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated involvement in support of diversity; ability to work with multiple constituencies and experience with technology as a teaching tool. An understanding of the mission of the community college is essential.

ResponsibilitiesTeach lecture and computer-based courses as needed. Coordinate with IT tech support staff in the design of computer-based teaching environments. Develop, revise, implement and evaluate curriculum. Assess student performance and the computer science curriculum. Recruit, advise and mentor students. Serve on departmental, division and college-wide committees. Perform other duties and responsibilities as related to a full-time tenure-track faculty position in the community college system.
