Online Learning Technical Requirements

MCC offers a variety of online courses that are delivered via the Internet. While you are enrolled and taking an online or hybrid course, you will need to have access to an Internet connection, preferably via cable modem or DSL. Although you can access your course from any Internet-connected computer, you will probably prefer using a home or work computer. If you wish to take an online course by using a computer in one of MCC’s open labs, please note that the open computer labs are not available 24 hours a day.

Hardware and Software Requirements

While you are enrolled and taking an online course, you will need access to an internet connection, a web browser, applications recommended by your instructor (e.g. Word, Excel), and an e-mail account. For up-to-date information, a browser check, and plug-in downloads, please visit the Connecticut Community Colleges Help Desk. The Connecticut Community Colleges have offered guidelines for Personal Computer Configuration. Actual system and software requirements for a course may vary; please see the instructor’s requirements listed in the class schedule.
