Accuplacer LOEP Intent Form

The Accuplacer Level of English Proficiency (LOEP) test and/or a writing sample will be used to determine placement into transitional, developmental or college-level English courses at the college. During the assessment you will be asked to demonstrate your ability to read with understanding, to think analytically and to respond critically to what you have read.  Based on your work, the English department will determine the appropriate level at which you should continue your study of composition. If the test result(s) indicate that your placement is in one or more ESOL courses, in addition to these courses, you may be allowed to take other (non-ESOL) mainstream courses in the same semester.

Is English the primary language that you read and write?
Have you completed eight years of education in the United States?

Please watch your email for communication from the Testing Center. We will contact you to schedule your Accuplacer LOEP test. Testing is generally conducted on Wednesday or Thursday mornings.

DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR WRITING SAMPLE IN THE BOX ABOVE; THIS IS FOR OFFICE USE ONLY.

If you do not have access to technology and need to complete the Writing Sample in our office, please email Heidi Campbell to schedule an appointment.  Seating for appointments is limited and only offered at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays.   Masks and distancing will be required according to COVID-19 guidelines.
