Faculty Fellowship Program

Manchester Community College is sponsoring a Faculty Fellowship Program (FFP) for qualified individuals from underrepresented groups interested in beginning or advancing a career in higher education.

Who Can be a Fellow?

Fellows must have successfully completed a master’s degree or its equivalent and apply by February 15 for the Spring semester.

Goals and Benefits of the Program

The goals of the Faculty Fellowship Program are to:

  • Diversify the pool of qualified minority faculty
  • Create and facilitate diversified career paths for minorities within and outside of MCC
  • Promote MCC as an accessible and desirable environment within which members of minority groups can establish and maintain careers
  • Provide diverse role models for the benefit of MCC students
  • Enhance the ethnic, racial and intellectual diversity that the college seeks to promote

The benefits of the Faculty Fellowship Program include:

  • Exposure to curriculum that includes best practices in teaching and learning -on-ground, hybrid and online
  • Opportunities for job-shadowing and co-teaching
  • The pairing of Fellows with experienced MCC faculty mentors.
  • Participation in professional development opportunities occurring during the semester
  • Consideration, in the form of an interview, for available adjunct faculty positions in the Faculty Fellow’s discipline.

Expectation of Fellows

Fellows are expected to allocate time on a weekly basis to curricular work and mentoring activities.  It is anticipated that the commitment will be 3-4 hours per week. A schedule for the semester and online assignments will be provided at the onset of the program.
