Earth Science combines the study of geography, oceanography, meteorology and environmental science. At MCC, earth science courses may be used to satisfy a student’s general education knowledge areas in science.
For those with an earth science background, employment opportunities can be found in consulting companies, government agencies, and in the mining and petroleum industries.
Many students who are interested in pursuing a career in earth science will transfer into a bachelor’s degree program to continue their studies. Students who are thinking of transferring are encouraged to meet with their academic advisors to discuss their plans and how MCC courses transfer to other institutions.
