Hans Weiss opening - A Suspension of Stereotypic Perception
September 13, 2018
These poignant and powerful images, featuring individuals who have immigrated to the United States, made by Christine Breslin, bring to mind the importance of each person of having a space in which we can establish a home. The artist has created a suite of portraits in which the lives and hearts of her subjects are evident in their faces. These are deeply sensitive works, whose rendering, through the use of a large format camera and a wet collodion process, helps create images that capture humanity at its core.
