Brian Cleary, director of the Academic Support Center, was presented with the Dr. Jonathan M. Daube Award for Inclusion and Accessibility, at the Rosemary & Gunnar Dybwad Seminar and Awards Ceremony held in Great Path Academy Community Commons April 25. Cleary, who has been a supporter of students with disabilities since he started his career at MCC, was presented with the award for “consistent and creative support of students with disabilities which affords them the same opportunities for success as other students on campus,” according to the award citation. Cleary has come up with creative solutions to afford students with disabilities the same opportunities for success as other students on campus. He has been a key partner in maintaining the accessibility of programs and instruction at MCC. The Rosemary and Gunnar Dybwad Lecture Series, sponsored by the MCC Disabilities Services department, is held annually and features a series of speakers and the presentation of the award. The keynote speaker this year was Mandy Neville, chief executive, Circles Network, an organization supporting children and adults with disabilities and their families throughout the United Kingdom.
