How do I become a Student Cougar at Great Path Academy?
We are a public magnet high school. We have open seats for all four grade levels, freshman through senior, for the school year of 2019-20 (next year). Our school is free of charge to families to attend and transportation is provided through the Regional School Choice Office (RSCO) .
If you are interested in Great Path Academy, please attend an open house (see below for dates and times) and then visit www.choiceeducation.org to create an account and apply online. We accept students through the RSCO lottery. This is the only acceptance path to Great Path Academy. The lottery dates run from November 1, 2018 through February 28, 2019. If an application is submitted late, the student’s chance of acceptance is slim. We do offer staff preference not only for our staff here at GPA, but for the Manchester Community College staff, as well, in addition to sibling preference. If you are eligible for either of these preferences, please contact GPA Office Assistant, Jasmine Serrano . If considered eligible for preference, you must still complete an application, submit it by February 28th and also submit your name to the school as an ‘application with preference’. Late applications not only do not receive preference if eligible, but also are unlikely to be awarded placement as a late application goes to the very bottom of the application list.

GPA Open House for Prospective Students
Students and families who are interested in attending Great Path Academy for the school year of 2019-20 should plan on attending an open house as a way to get to know the GPA community.
Open houses will be held on November 15, January 31 and February 21. All open houses will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Please call Jasmine Serrano at 860-512-3700 for additional information.

If you are interested in scheduling a shadow half-day, please contact DaSheena Robinson at 860-512-3756. We are welcoming visiting prospective students one half day a month through January 2019.
We currently have three vendors that are available to purchase our school uniform from:
- Lands’ End. Available through online order only. Please visit www.landsend.com and click on the “School Uniform” link, then “Find Your School’s Dress Code”.
- Inchworm (formerly CT Shirtman) Their main facility is in East Hartford at 70 Tolland St. East Hartford, CT 06108 and you can call 860-216-5496 for more information. Hours of operation are M-F, 9-5 and Saturday, 10-2.
- Mag and Son. Their contact is 860-229-4900. please call this number for more information. They are located at 171 Pascone Place, Newington, CT 06111.
Please note the following change to the school uniform: the fleece is no longer a part of our school uniform. It can be worn to and from school, but not during the school day.
