Glastonbury Residents Establish Two New MCC Foundation Endowed Funds

MANCHESTER, Conn. (June 17, 2022) – Drs. Saira Kazmi and Asad Rizvi, and Christine Ciccone and Peter Waite, all of Glastonbury, contributed endowment-establishing gifts to MCC Foundation to help Manchester Community College students achieve their educational goals.

Kazmi and Rizvi established the Nasreen and Imtiaz Rizvi Endowed Scholarship Fund to support full- or part-time students enrolled in a STEM-related credit-bearing degree or certificate program at MCC.

Ciccone and Waite established an endowment in their own names to benefit an MCC student enrolled in a credit-bearing degree or certificate program related to the arts.

To qualify for either of these scholarships, students must demonstrate financial need.

Endowments are an important revenue source for community colleges. They often support student scholarships and academic programs. By endowing a gift, donors make an investment that lasts in perpetuity in support of the college’s educational mission. With MCC Foundation, an endowment fund can be established with a gift of $10,000 or more. Donors are acknowledged on the college’s Donor Wall.
