Caps and Gowns
All graduates are required to pick up the traditional blue gowns, mortarboards and tassels (caps and gowns) in one of two ways:
- The Follett Bookstore at MCC will distribute regalia (pre-measurement is not required), a degree/certificate cover, and a gift from the MCC Alumni Association for every graduate, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from Tuesday, May 4 to Tuesday, May 25.
- Graduates can also opt to participate in a drive-thru pick-up for caps and gowns at the bus loop on Ramey Drive near the Bicentennial Band Shell from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. , Wednesday, May 19, and from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 22. Dr. Nicole Esposito, MCC’s Chief Executive Officer, will be present on these days to hand-out the caps and gowns.
Graduates are required to wear masks and adhere to all CDC and state COVID-19 protocols for their health and safety and that of others on campus.
Please note that graduates opting to participate in the drive-thru are required to RSVP to K. Umesh Vig, Director of Student Affairs Operations, at firstname.lastname@example.org by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Guidelines for Uploading Photographs
Commencement is a time of celebration for MCC’s Class of 2021 and all graduates are being asked to upload their photographs either in their caps and gowns or appropriate attire. The deadline for graduates to upload their photographs is Tuesday, May 25. Graduates will receive an email from GradImages® in the first week of May with detailed instructions on how to upload their photographs and other relevant information. GradImages will create GradSlides® for MCC’s Class of 2021 for the virtual Commencement launch on Thursday, June 10.
Graduates are strongly advised to upload photographs which are appropriate and do not contain any profanity, vulgarity, and/or nudity.
Opportunity to Meet with CEO Esposito
MCC is planning a virtual commencement; however, graduates will have the opportunity to meet with CEO Nicole Esposito on campus, on the following days:
- Wednesday, May 26, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Thursday, May 27, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Graduates opting to come to campus to meet with Dr. Esposito are required to wear their cap and gown (with tassels), and bring their degree covers with them. Photographers from GradImages will be available on these days and graduates will be videotaped congratulated by our CEO.
Graduates opting to come to campus to meet are required to wear masks and adhere to all CDC and state COVID-19 protocols for their health and safety and that of others on campus.
This in-person event is open only to the graduates of the Class of 2021 and not open to family members.

GradImages will be photographing all graduates with the Chief Executive Officer as they meet with her on Campus. Please visit the GradImages website and click on Pre-Event Email Registration. Enter your email and up to six email addresses of loved ones who would like to share in your accomplishment by viewing and ordering your photos. By pre-registering, you will receive a discount of 20% off an order of $50 or more. After Commencement, order on the GradImages website or call 800-261-2576.
Diplomas and Certificates
Diplomas and certificates will be mailed in late summer to students who have met all academic and financial requirements. For questions regarding the completion of your degree or certificate requirements, contact Gail Anne Arroyo, Associate Registrar, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Anita Sparrow, Registrar, at email@example.com in the Registrar’s office. Please make sure that the Registrar’s office has your correct mailing address.
