Grade levels listed are the grades completed in the 2020-2021 academic year, not the grade a student is entering in the fall. Our youngest students must have completed kindergarten.

July Full-Day Youth Programs

Summer Culinary Programs (Grades 5-9)

The Summer Culinary Program is a one-week program for grades 5-9 exploring the culinary arts. The youngest students must have completed 5th grade. NOTE: All advanced classes require prior experience in culinary.

Youth Culinary Program: Baking & Pastry (Grades 5-9)

Students will strengthen their baking skills in this unique week long culinary experience with a focus on making delectable baked treats. Under the guidance of professional chef and teacher, Chef Josh, students will make everything from scratch, work in teams, learn how to work safe and sanitary, measure, scale and be creative when making professional desserts. Some desserts include: French macaroons, beignets, cake pops, Danish pastries, fancy cookies, quick breads, yeast breads and cakes. On the final day of class, students will host a pastry party for their families.

Youth Culinary Level One (Grades 5-9)

In this fun, hands-on, experience-based course, students will explore and strengthen their culinary skills. Under the guidance of experienced and professionally trained chef and certified culinary arts teacher, Chef Josh, students will cook multiple diverse dishes each day and celebrate their combined skills by treating their family to a buffet on Friday. While cooking independently and in small groups, students will learn and practice baking, sautéing, frying, whisking, folding and stirring, and knife skills, just to name a few. Chef Josh will explain kitchen safety and sanitation, menu development, principles of hospitality, plating, garnishing and more. If your young chef has a passion for cooking and baking, join us for this unique program!

Advanced Youth Culinary Program (Grades 5-9)

This course is for students that would like to take their culinary skills to the next level and become more advanced chefs.

Prerequisite: Youth Culinary Level One

Advanced Baking & Pastry Program (Grades 5-9)

This course is for students that would like to take their baking skills to the next level and become more advanced baking & pastry chefs. This program will focus on advanced skills and pastries; such as tempering, sauces, Pâte à Choux, and truffes. Plating and baking surrounding various cuisines will be explored.

Prerequisite: Youth Culinary Baking

IMPORTANT Program Information

Materials fee: $50 per student, payable to instructor at the beginning of class. This materials fee includes all groceries, materials, and a chef hat and apron to keep. The instructor for all programs is Chef Josh Ogrodowski.

Students of all culinary skill levels are accepted but students must follow directions and be safe in the kitchen. Misbehaving students will be dismissed.

Leadership, Team Building and Ropes Course Challenge

A one-week, full-day program for grades 5-9 to strengthen leadership and teamwork skills. Full STEAM Ahead (Grades K-4)

Summer Full-Day Academic Program:

Summer Academy for Gifted Youth (Grades K-9)
Monday-Friday | 9 a.m.-4 p.m. | July 6-August 13 2021

$325 for full day for one week. Some classes have a materials fee see catalog for details.

$325 for half day (9 a.m.-12 noon) – Jazz for 2 weeks.
$650 for full day  (total for two week classes for both weeks)
Extended day, 8-9 a.m. and/or 4-5 p.m. for additional cost.

An academic enrichment program for gifted, talented and highly motivated students in kindergarten through ninth grade. There are over 40 specific courses to choose from. Students choose classes to study for the one-week session. Please see our summer catalog for the dates, price and course descriptions.

  • Grades: Kindergarten–grade 9 (Grade level is the grade the student has just completed in the current school year; NOT the grade the student is entering in the fall. Sorry, this program is not for students entering kindergarten in the fall. Our youngest students must have completed kindergarten.)
