The Manchester Community College Alumni Association will host a reception and awards evening on June 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the William R. Johnson, Sr. Garden on the college campus to honor MCC’s 2020 and 2021 Alumni of the Year. All MCC alumni and their guests are invited and there is no cost to them to attend this event. The 2020 Alumnus of the Year is Timothy M. Edwards ’92, of Tolland, and the 2021 Alumna of the Year is Michelle M. Driscoll ’12, of Vernon.

Rupert Tawiah-Quashie, of Manchester, regards his time as a student at Manchester Community College as his launch toward success. The 2022 New Century Transfer Scholar received a $2,250 scholarship to continue to pursue his educational goals.

Buteau, of Newington, holds a drug and alcohol recovery counselor (DARC) associate in science degree from MCC.
Since 2014 Yale’s ITS Summer College Internship has offered paid, full-time, 10- to 12-week positions working side-by-side with IT professionals on projects matched with a student’s skills and interests. The assignments offer hands-on experience, exposure to a collaborative culture and opportunities to sharpen problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Medallions are awarded at each of the community colleges to graduating students who have earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
