- MCC Alumni Association to Celebrate 2019 Alumni of the Year at Annual Alumni Dinner November 20 (11/11/2019) - Dr. Carol Lynn Curchoe ’00, a South Windsor native, and Kerry McNiven ’03, of Simsbury, have been named 2019 Alumna of the Year by the Manchester Community College Alumni Association.
- MCC Named Number 1 Community College in Connecticut; Seventh Among the Top 19 Colleges and Universities (10/28/2019) - MCC’s rankings came with a score of 97.2 out of 100.
- Alumni Success: Decorated U.S. Army Veteran Paul Mozzicato ’18 Earns Civilian Honors at MCC (7/10/2019) - It was at MCC that Mozzicato, of South Windsor, who had served his country with tours in Iraq, learned the honor of serving himself.
On November 13, 2018 the MCC Alumni Association hosted it’s annual alumni dinner. At the event Marilyn Thrall ’73 and John B. Toomey ’74 were recognized as the 2018 Alumni of the Year. Hors d’oeuvres and a delicious meal and Viennese dessert were prepared and served by MCC’s culinary and hospitality students.
Manchester Community College’s Alumni Association has announced its 2017 Alumnae of the Year. The honorees are Christobelle Payne ’07 and Dawn Vigue ‘87. Payne and Vigue were honored at the 31st annual Alumni Dinner and Awards on November 14.
The MCC Alumni Associated is sponsoring “MCC Alumni Show 2017” at the Dehn Gallery at MCC on Main. The showcase of our most talented and creative alumni -- one of the most successful gallery events when initially held in 2015 -- is back by popular demand. This year’s juried show opened Friday, September 15, with a reception and the awarding of first-, second- and third-place prizes. The jury for the show was MCC Professor Dan Long, co-chair, Visual Fine Arts department; and Jane Rainwater, curator of the Dehn Gallery. The show runs through November 4. It is free and open to the public.
Police Sgt. Michael Hicks ’00, of Coventry, was named 2016 Alumnus of the Year by the Manchester Community College Alumni Association. He was honored at an award ceremony at the 30th annual Alumni Dinner and Awards Tuesday evening, November 15, in the college’s Culinary Arts Center. Sgt. Hicks received an award in front of approximately 75 MCC alumni and their guests who also attended the event for networking and to reconnect with former classmates and favorite faculty and staff.
