Safe Learning Courses Formats

MCC’s course offerings have been updated to reflect the college’s plans for fall.  The Fall 2020 course offerings reflect a mix of traditional, online, and hybrid courses to offer the safest and most effective way to deliver our courses.

The different delivery methods now include:

  1. TRAD (Traditional): Course held on campus at specific times.
  2. ONLN (Online): Course delivered online. Students are not expected to sign on at specific times, but assignments have specific due dates. OLCR (Online with Classroom Component) may require on-campus orientation and/or proctored assessments; all other instruction will be online. OLCR on-campus dates are in the myCommNet schedule.
  3. LRON (Live/Remote Online Courses): Students will participate in live online sessions held in Teams or WebEx at specified times, as noted in the myCommNet schedule.
  4. HYBR (Hybrid): Instruction both on-campus and online (combination of 1 and2 or1 and 3).

View the online course search and, in the Inst Methd (instructional method) column, you will find the manner in which these courses will be taught.  If the instructional method for courses you have previously enrolled in has changed, your schedule in myCommNet will reflect that new information.

Some important notes:

  • All courses will use the Blackboard course management system to some extent. More specific information will be in the class’s Blackboard course announcements at the start of the semester.
  • Here are some resources to get you started: Online Student Resources
  • Students signing up for any TRAD or HYBR classes should be mindful when creating a schedule that they will need to build in time for travel to and from campus.
  • If you need to change your fall schedule, you can review your degree requirements in Degree Works and follow our online registration process. If you need assistance, you can request an appointment with an advisor at geninfocounseling@manchestercc.edu

While the campus remains closed except by appointment, all departments are accessible by email and phone. Also, please continue to check your college email.

Veterans, please note: If any of your classes get cancelled, please contact School Certifying Official  Michelle LaBelle immediately. There are recent provisions that have been set forth by the Department of Veterans Affairs due to COVID-19 that are helping vets and ensuring they get paid their housing allowance and tuition dollars with the shift to the online format.

Refunds

MCC will not refund tuition and fees if we convert to an online instruction model for the remainder of the term in order to complete the coursework that students have begun this semester. In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled by the college, we will provide further information about refunds to impacted students.
