Matthew Towers received his BFA in Theater from New York University and his MFA in Ceramics from The New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. He is currently an Associate Professor of Ceramics at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford in Connecticut. In the summer of 2012, Towers did a residency through the Artists Invite Artists Program at the Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, Montana, and in the summer of 2000, he was an artist-in-residence at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana. In 2004, he received a grant from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts. His work has been shown nationally and internationally in solo and group exhibitions, including: Ceramics ‘97, Ceramics ‘99, Ceramics 2001 and Ceramics 2005, Connecticut; White on White, Maryland; NCECA 2005 Clay National Exhibition, Maryland; Greenwich House Pottery, New York City; Pewabic Pottery, Michigan; The Elmhurst Art Museum, Illinois; The Slater Memorial Museum, Connecticut; The Archie Bray Foundation, Montana; the Wexler Gallery, Pennsylvania; and the Philadelphia Clay Studio, Pennsylvania. He has also lectured at the University of Washington, Sienna Heights University, Michigan, The University of Connecticut, The University of Long Beach, California, Rhode Island School of Design, Alfred University, New York, Northern Arizona University and the University of Alaska. His work is in collections, including: The Jingdezhen Museum of Ceramics, China; The Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art, New York; The Archie Bray Foundation, Montana; and the Pfannebecker Collection, Pennsylvania. His work is also featured in the books Sex Pots Eroticism in Ceramics by Paul Mathieu, Overseas Contemporary Ceramic Art Classics by Bai Ming and 500 Vases by Lark Books.

Cat Balco received her MFA in Painting from the Yale School of Art in 2007 where she was the recipient of the Helen Winternitz Award in Painting and the Gloucester Landscape Painting Prize. She has been awarded residency fellowships through the Weir Farm Trust, the Albers Foundation, the Vermont Studio Center and the Yale School of Art at Norfolk. Her paintings have been discussed in international publications, including: ArtInfo.com; The New York Times; and the London-based magazine Bon International. Recent and upcoming exhibition venues include: The Painting Center in New York City; Real Art Ways in Hartford, Connecticut; and Nuartlink Gallery in Westport, Connecticut. Her work is included in the White Columns registry and she is an Associate Fellow at Morse College at Yale University. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing at the Hartford Art School/University of Hartford.

Dan Burkholder received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Brooks Institute of Photography. No stranger to traditional photography, he was a workshop student of Ansel Adams and his mastery of the wet darkroom was highlighted by serving as assistant to both John Sexton and Jerry Uelsmann. In the early 1990s, he was one of the first photographic artists to embrace digital technology. Originating the digital-negative process in 1992, Dan has helped open doors for all black and white photographers interested in moving into new electronic technologies. His award-winning book, Making Digital Negatives for Contact Printing, is regarded as the most authoritative work in the field. In 2008, University of Texas Press published The Color of Loss: An Intimate Portrait of New Orleans after Katrina, a monograph of Dan’s images made in the flooded interiors of homes, schools, churches and workplaces in post-Katrina New Orleans. Dan is always pushing the creative envelope, and over the years he has printed a variety of traditional and digital fine art prints, including: platinum prints; platinum over palladium prints; platinum over gold foil prints; pigment over platinum prints; pigmented ink prints; and HDR (High Dynamic Range) prints. His exquisite prints are included in private and museum collections internationally. His most recent book is titled iPhone Artistry. Dan lives in New York state and teaches workshops internationally.
